🇺🇦 Ukrainian refugees in Berlin helping the civilians they left behind · 100% volunteer-run · Every cent goes to aid
Active aid deliveries — Berlin → Ukraine

We Fled.
They Couldn't.

We are Ukrainian refugees living in Berlin. The people we help never got to leave — children with disabilities, elderly people too frail to flee, civilians caught in the war with nothing left. We pack food, medicine, wheelchairs, hygiene supplies and vitamins, and a volunteer driver delivers them directly across Ukraine.

They Stayed Behind.
We Didn't Forget Them.

When the bombs fell, many people simply had no way out. Children with severe disabilities whose parents couldn't carry them far enough. Elderly men and women with no one to help them evacuate. Civilians whose entire world collapsed around them. These are the people we came from. These are the people we refused to leave behind.

Children with disabilities receiving aid

Children with Disabilities

Over 370 children with special needs — cerebral palsy, autism, seizure disorders — depend on our regular deliveries of diapers, specialized nutrition, vitamins, and medications they can no longer get locally.

Isolated elderly receiving care and supplies

Isolated Elderly

Pensioners who survived the Soviet era now face a new nightmare. Many can't walk, can't shop, can't cook. We send walkers, wheelchairs, hygiene supplies, food, and a reminder that someone cares.

Displaced families receiving essential aid

Displaced Families

Mothers raising children alone after fleeing bombed cities. Single parents with disabled children who lost everything. They need clothing, school supplies, food staples, and basic household items.

Abandoned shelter animals receiving food and care

Abandoned Animals

Shelters are overwhelmed with pets left behind during evacuations. We send dog and cat food, veterinary supplies, and collars to shelters caring for dozens of animals with no budget.

What Recipients Say

Every quote below is real — translated from messages posted by actual recipients on our Facebook community.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you for your kindness. Thanks to your help, my mother received a wheelchair that has completely transformed her life after her stroke. Your care is priceless to us.

Agnessa, there are no words. Tears in my eyes. How do you have enough strength for everyone? If a person has such a big heart, it means they've seen something in this life and know how to empathize. Special thanks for the gluten-free products. You are truly an angel in human form.

I'm an elderly woman who received a walker from you. What happiness that such a charitable foundation exists with real angels who help people in need. Now I can walk to the shop by myself.

Meet Agnessa

"I cannot look the other way when children are hungry."

Agnessa Romanina fled Ukraine and found safety in Berlin. But safety brought its own weight — the guilt of knowing that hundreds of thousands of civilians back home had no such luck. Children too disabled to be carried to safety. Grandmothers too frail to reach a shelter. People forgotten by the world. So she built "Angels Among Us" (Янголи серед нас) to reach them.

Living on refugee assistance in Berlin, she spends what little she has on supplies for others. She packs every box herself — not in a warehouse, but in her apartment. A volunteer driver then makes the long haul from Berlin deep into Ukraine, delivering directly to the civilians who cannot come to the aid themselves.

She is currently recovering from surgery. She is still packing boxes. Because the children back home — the ones who couldn't flee — they cannot wait.

The foundation has zero paid staff. Agnessa draws no salary. Every single cent goes to aid for civilians who had no way out. She just needs your help to keep going.

Frequently Asked

Is this a registered nonprofit?
"Янголи серед нас" (Angels Among Us) is a registered charitable foundation / non-governmental organization in Ukraine. All donations are used exclusively for humanitarian aid.
Does this foundation support military or combatants?
No. This is purely a civilian humanitarian aid organization. We help children with disabilities, elderly people, displaced families, and animal shelters. We do not fund, supply, or support any military activities.
How do I know my donation is reaching people?
Every delivery is documented with photographs. Recipients post thank-you messages and photos in our public Facebook community. You can follow along in real time. We also share delivery updates directly with donors who provide their email.
What does €25 actually buy?
A typical €25 package can include: basic hygiene products (shampoo, soap, sanitary products), a week's worth of dry food (pasta, cereal, canned goods), children's vitamins, and sweets for kids. Larger donations fund wheelchairs (€100–200), bulk pet food for shelters (€50+), or specialized medical supplies.
How are goods delivered to Ukraine?
A volunteer driver from Berlin makes regular trips (every few weeks) to Ukraine with a fully packed vehicle. Packages are delivered directly to recipients or to local distribution points such as mother-and-child shelters, disability care homes, and animal rescue organizations.
Can I donate goods instead of money?
Absolutely! If you're in Berlin or nearby, we accept donations of clothing (clean, good condition, with sizes noted), non-perishable food, hygiene products, pet food, school supplies, toys, and mobility aids. Contact us to arrange drop-off or pickup.
